For the second week in a row, I saw a game that was decided by one score, and went down to the wire.  This time, it was in Beverly.  Muhlenberg, behind four touchdown passes divided among two quarterbacks, held off Endicott, 28-20.  The Mules clinched the victory by stopping the Gulls on 4th and 1 from inside the 10 in the final minute.

While the game was tight for most of the contest, Muhlenberg never trailed.  Quarterbacks Dante Mahaffey and Luke Spang each threw a pair of TD passes.  Christopher Short caught two of them.  Short finished with 108 yards receiving.  Mahaffey and Spang combined to throw for 325.

But the Gulls would not go quietly.  Bryan Ferreira rushed for two TDs.  Bryan Metayer added one of his own.  Shea Lynch threw for 277 yards and no interceptions.

This was a very clean game.  There were no turnovers.  Each team only committed two penalties.  The Mules had the edge through the air.  The Gulls had the advantage on the ground.  Other than that, many of the stats are very close.

NEXT WEEK: Endicott plays its third straight home game against NY Maritime.  Muhlenberg stays on the road to play Wilkes.
