Today, I begin my better-late-than never college basketball coverage for 2026.  The last two weeks, I attended games at my alma mater, Boston University.  For that reason, I chose not to write about either of those games.

Anyway, moving on…

Today in the NESCAC, #12 Tufts defeated a very game Middlebury team, 75-62.  The Jumbos are now 15-2 on the season, including a perfect 4-0 record in the conference.  They’ve won 15 straight since dropping their first two games.  The Panthers remain winless in the NESCAC.

For much of the way, the visiting Panthers hung right with the hometown Jumbos.  Middlebury had a 2-point lead with just under 9 minutes remaining.  But Tufts was able to pull away down the stretch.

Scott Gyimesi led the Jumbos with 20 points.  Dominick Ducree had the same number for the Panthers.
