This game made me sick to my stomach.  The Bucs were blown out by the Rams (again), took a beating (again), and lost the only player they couldn’t afford to lose – Baker Mayfield.

Baker’s injury is not as serious as it could have been.  He may play Sunday against Arizona, but that is still up in the air.

But the biggest issue, for me, is Tampa Bay’s defense getting shredded yet again.  Todd Bowles’ unit has given up over 100 points in three games since the bye.  What changed during the bye week?  We’ve known for a while that the secondary is abysmal.  And boy, have they ever been exposed by Drake Maye, Josh Allen and Matthew Stafford.  Yes, those are three excellent quarterbacks.  But Bowles doesn’t seem to be making any effort to fix his Swiss-cheese secondary.

The Buccaneers will likely get Bucky Irving back for the Cardinals’ game.  That’s great, but he is not tasked with covering receivers.  Someone needs to step up and make plays, and that process starts with the defensive coordinator/head coach.  Period.
