In the Division 3 playoffs, LaGrange is moving on.  Framingham State is going home.  The Panthers hung on to beat the Rams today, 24-21.

This was a hard-hitting game between two teams that seemed evenly-matched.  Total yards were close (319-307 in favor of the Rams.)  The Panthers did most of their damage on the ground.  The Rams got it done primarily through the air.

Tacaris Bozeman scored two of LaGrange’s three rushing touchdowns, including one late in the fourth quarter that gave the Panthers a 10-point lead.  His first TD came after a blocked punt early in the third quarter, which turned out to be a key play in the game.  Kirk Scott had the other rushing score.

Framingham State quarterback Michael Marcucella threw for 278 yards and a touchdown to Adrian Sarrette.  Marcucella also ran for a score in the final minute; the officials determined the ball broke the plane before he fumbled.  But the Panthers recovered the onside kick, and that was the game.

This is the first time LaGrange had reached the second round of the NCAA tournament.  The Panthers will face Berry College next week.
