For the fourth consecutive season, Endicott is king of the CNE.
The Gulls defeated the Eagles from Husson on Saturday afternoon, 32-6. This was a matchup between the top two teams in the conference, and the home team dominated.
Perhaps the first three minutes should have been a sign of what was to come. Endicott fumbled it away on the opening play of the game. But not only was Husson unable to capitalize, the Eagles’ field goal attempt was blocked. From that point on, it was all Gulls.
Yavier Cosme-Diaz scored rushing touchdowns on back-to-back drives. In the second quarter, Clayton Marengi hit Kennedy Charles to make it 21-0. Later, the Gulls executed a trick play to perfection, as WR Shane Aylward threw a TD pass to fellow WR, Adam Goodfellow. It was 29-0 at the half, and Husson never recovered.
Bryan Metayer rushed for 147 yards for Endicott. Husson also had a 100-yard rusher: Jed Lober picked up 112.
Endicott’s defense was equally as impressive. The lone Eagles’ touchdown came in the fourth quarter, when Max Clark hit Dom Wilson on a 4th and goal.
Next week, Endicott travels to Curry. Husson hosts UNE. It is the final weekend of the regular season.
