What a wild game this was, especially the first half.  But in the second half, the Buccaneers turned it into a blowout.

Tampa Bay blew out New Orleans in the Superdome, 51-27.  The Bucs set a franchise record with 594 yards of total offense.

The Bucs led 17-0 at one point.  But in a forgettable second quarter, that 17-point lead turned into a 3-point deficit.  Baker Mayfield threw three interceptions, and the Bucs allowed the Saints to return a punt for a touchdown.  But aside from that lousy quarter, Tampa Bay dominated.

The biggest takeaway from this game?  The Bucs suddenly have a running game.  With Rachaad White injured, the Bucs rushed for 277 yards.  Sean Tucker had 136.  Bucky Irving added 81.  Those are un-Buc like numbers.  Both scored touchdowns.

Chris Godwin had 125 yards receiving and two touchdowns.  Did I mention this is a contract year for him?  Hmm…

The defense, which had the rough second quarter, was lights out in the second half.  That was a welcome sight after the debacle in Atlanta the week before.

The Bucs are now 4-2.  They remain tied with the Falcons atop the NFC South.  Next up: the Buccaneers host the 4-2 Ravens on Monday Night Football.
