This was a very entertaining matchup. Six lead changes. Big plays. Excellent quarterback play. And in the end, the top team in the NESCAC maintained that advantage. Trinity beat Tufts, 42-24. After falling behind 24-21, the Bantams scored the last 21 points of the game.
Let’s talk about the quarterbacks. For Trinity, Zander Zebrowski threw for nearly 300 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran for a score. He only threw four incompletions all game. For Tufts, Michael Berluti threw three touchdown passes, two of them to Cade Moore.
Where the Bantams had the edge, was on the ground. They outgained the Jumbos on the ground, 144-76. Tyler DiNapoli found the end zone twice. The Bantams also blocked a punt that led to a touchdown.
You could easily look at the 18-point margin of victory and think this was a blowout. For the better part of three quarters, this was as good as it gets. But Trinity was able to pull away down the stretch and stay undefeated.
Next week, Trinity hosts Hamilton. Tufts travels to Maine to play Bates.
