Two weeks from today, the Buccaneers will open the 2024 season against the Commanders at Ray-Jay.  Preseason is now over.  It’s time for real football to start.

What did we see during the preseason?  Well, not much.  Sure, Baker Mayfield played one whole series.  He looked good in leading the first-team offense on a 70-yard touchdown drive, albeit against Miami’s backups.  Who else has looked good?  How about Bucky Irving?  How about Jalen McMillan?  And will the Bucs actually have a good running game?

That last question remains to be answered.

Defensively: again, it’s preseason, so it’s hard to judge.  But they looked good while they were out there.  Yeah, that’s as generic a statement as they come.

Anyway, bring on Washington on September 8.
